Academics during the elementary and middle school years build a strong foundation for learning throughout a student's life. At Cullowhee Valley, it is our goal to make sure that each student receives an equitable, rigorous, and relevant education. We offer guidelines, resources, and professional development for teachers they can make good decisions about student learning.

Jackson County Public Schools teaches the NC Standard Course of Study as adopted and facilitated through the NC Department of Public Instruction. You can view the NC Standard Course of Study that all NC public schools are expected to teach.

Materials in libraries and media centers are reviewed by School Media Coordinators who are licensed by the state of NC and who possess a master's degree in Library Science. School Media Coordinators review and vet all resources placed in school media centers. A record of all books and materials is maintained online in the JCPS Follett Media Directory.
